Terms of Service

Last updated: October 6, 2026

By using whiteharborlabs.com, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.

What this site is

White Harbor Labs publishes free, no-signup web tools — calculators, planners, and reference guides for home, garden, and workshop projects. The tools are informational. They are not a substitute for professional judgment.

Not professional advice

Our tools provide general estimates and guidance, not professional advice. They are not a substitute for a licensed electrician, plumber, HVAC technician, structural engineer, or any other qualified professional. If a project involves electricity, gas, structural work, or anything where a mistake could hurt someone or damage property, consult a licensed professional before acting. You use our tools and their outputs at your own risk.

No warranties

The site and all tools are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind — express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to get the math and data right, and we document our sources and methods on each tool, but we can't guarantee every result is correct for your situation.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, White Harbor Labs and its owner will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including property damage, personal injury, or financial loss — arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site or its tools, even if we were advised such damages were possible. In any case, our total liability will not exceed $100.

Your responsibilities

Intellectual property

Everything on this site — text, code, design, and compiled datasets — belongs to White Harbor Labs unless stated otherwise (public-domain sources like NOAA data are credited on each tool). You may link to our pages freely. You may not republish our content or tools as your own.

Affiliate relationships

Some pages may recommend products and link to retailers. If you buy through those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change what a tool recommends. Any page with affiliate links carries a clear disclosure next to the links, per FTC requirements.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site evolves. We'll update the date above when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE]. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of [STATE].

Plain-English note: we're a tiny operation publishing free tools, not a law firm. These terms were drafted without a lawyer. They reflect our intent — useful tools, honest limits, no funny business — but they haven't been reviewed by counsel.
